Water delivery time

Chapter 10.2.3. of the VdS CEA 4001 Regulation defines maximal allowed water delivery time to most demanded sprinkler in dry pipe sprinkler system.
Moreover Chapter 7.2.3 of the NFPA 13. defines maximal allowed water delivery time to most demanded sprinkler area in dry pipe sprinkler system.
Usual way of checking water delivery time is conducting a trip test on site when sprinkler system is fully installed. In case of an error in the project the subsequent removal is extremely expensive.
Therefore, in order to ensure the design of sprinkler system that is in accordance with the requirements of the regulations, at the end of 2013 APIN has bought only approved software that enables the calculation of water delivery time, and APIN’s professionals have successfully completed the necessary training.
Using the software we are also able to develop the sprinkler project in a three-dimensional model that can be exported into Revit for collisions check with other installations.
