While the system is in the standby, the dry pilot line with classic sprinkler heads is filled with compressed air, while the extinguishing line is of open type with open deluge spray nozzles. When the fire starts and the sprinkler heads connected to the dry pilot line are activated, the pressure in the dry pilot line drops. Due to this pressure drop, pressure imbalance occurs in the deluge valve, the deluge station opens and water is released into the extinguishing line (the water is simultaneously released from all spray nozzles), and into the fire alarm line. The fire alarm line houses an alarm gong providing an audible notification of the fire, as well as a pressure switch which transmits the fire alarm signal to the fire alarm control unit.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Hydraulic release deluge system <\/em><\/strong><br \/>\nThis type of system consists of a dry pilot line with spray nozzles, extinguishing line, deluge station and water source. In case of fire and upon activation of the fire alarm system, the electromagnetic valve, which is a component of the deluge station, opens. Upon opening of the valve an imbalance occurs in the deluge valve resulting in the opening of the deluge station and release of water into the extinguishing line (the water is simultaneously released from all spray nozzles), and into the fire alarm line.
